Tassie
Tasmania is part of Australia, but is about 1,000 km south of the mainland. It is the southernmost and also the coolest wine-growing region on the continent. Although initially neglected, the enormous potential of the cool climate has now been discovered.
Tasmania cannot be clearly assigned to one grape or wine variety only, there are excellent representatives of all of them. Due to the particular suitability of the cool climate for the production of high-quality Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, these grape varieties, as well as the champagne-like sparkling wines based on them (as Blanc des Blanc or Rosé), are of great importance. These grape and wine varieties in particular have received worldwide recognition and awards in recent years.
The only catch from a local customer’s point of view is the severely limited quantity, which means that few of these wines are available outside of Australia. This is exactly where we want to start and finally make this premium quality available in Germany as well.
