By way of introduction, we – which means Katerina and Lutz – the people behind WineDinePror (WDP) are quite passionate about Australia and its wine and food scene.

It’s hard to say which one came first, because many years ago we both had learned to love and appreciate not only the country and its people, but also their sensational wines. Over the years we have toured the country again and again and repeatedly caught ourselves thinking: “Do we have this wine at home” or “No?!?! We definitely have to change that!”

This is how the idea for WDP materialized: We decided to bring these special wines, which we are completely convinced of, back home and make them accessible to top restaurants and the wine-loving community in a channel specially created for this purpose.

Right from the start, it was all about offering top boutique-wines that already enjoy an excellent reputation Down Under due to their character and fantastic product quality, but which – due to their small production volume – are not available in Germany.

Our focus was at not stage to offer a full range, but a mere selection of (in the end say 10-15) high-end wineries, our absolute favorites. And nothing else.

These exquisite wineries are all run with incredible energy, lots of love and attention to detail in family hands and have one common denominator with us: the passion for absolute top quality combined with a soft spot for people’s business. Behind all these wineries are winemakers who no longer have to prove anything to anyone. Their wines speak for themselves, year after year.

It is the most beautiful moment and a great experience to have established a very personal relationship with these people/ families through numerous on-site visits. The icing on the cake is, that they share their excellent and rare products with us despite very limited quantities of 2,000 – 5,000 bottles p.a. of the wines listed here, and regardless of the fact, that they could have sold this volume in a split second on their home market. In the end, it is the interplay of factors like business and interpersonal relationships, that gives us the chance to ultimately enjoy these wines and be part of this magic that can arise far beyond Australia.

We are therefore very proud to be able to introduce our favorite Australian wineries and their top wines to top restaurants and to you, the wine enthusiasts who strive for new horizons.
